Physiotherapy and Back Care

Paraprofessionals, such as physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths are all very useful adjunctive therapists when treating the right kind of case and all use different techniques.

They are most useful treating soft tissue injuries of the neck and body. None of these may practice on an animal without the specific permission of its regular vet first and should only work in conjunction with vets in the animal’s best interests. If an owner calls a paraprofessional out without first consulting a vet, a more serious diagnosis may been missed and the correct treatment delayed. Conversely, there are cases which will respond to a paraprofessional effectively without requiring veterinary intervention, in which case we will recommend an appropriate therapist in your locality (many of whom we have a close working relationship with).
