Caesarians are also known as “c-sections”. This is when an animal has issues whelping so veterinary intervention is required to help the animal and young.
Caesarians can happen due to a number of varying factors including:
- breed predisposition
- inertia (unwilling to push!)
- abnormal size of foetuses
- position of foetus
Signs of possibly needing a caesarian:
- lack of progression through stages of labour
- expectant mother seems stressed
