Appointments: reception@coachhousevets.com
A commonly performed procedure, we mainly perform castrations at yards with the colt sedated but standing. In some instances it is necessary to perform the operation under general anaesthetic, either for very small patients, very fractious ones, or older colts or stallions to ensure the procedure is done safely. If this is the case, this can be done under sterile theatre conditions for older patients, or in our knockdown box as needed, meaning we can provide a full range of options to ensure the safety of the surgery.
We are also happy to assess rigs, or potential rigs, and perform rig castrations in our theatre.
Please feel free to get in touch for more information on equine castration.
